Tribunal Fees- Done!
Last month the Supreme Court sent shock waves through the HR and legal communities by deeming tribunal fees unlawful.
The charges introduced in 2013 could reach as much as £1200 for a single claim had been praised for deterring merit-less claims but slammed by others for blocking access to justice. This ruling means that all those who have paid fees over the last few years are due a refund!
Employers once again need to think carefully about their processes and wider culture as there’s a worry some may have de-prioritised employee relations and lowered the amount of legal training/expertise they have since 2013.
Employers need to protect themselves, follow procedures and treat their staff well! Prevention is better than the cure.
